Located in Greenwich, Connecticut, we are a co-educational independent day school, currently serving students in grades pre-k through 9 (adding a grade each year through grade 12). The Stanwich School seeks to develop the “whole child” by educating each student’s Mind, Body and Spirit. Our unique, multi-faceted approach is designed to motivate students to be actively engaged in and take responsibility for their own learning while achieving their fullest potential. The program also strives to instill in students qualities of good character and inspire a life-long commitment to improving the world.
The Stanwich School offers a rigorous academic program based on a small student-teacher ratio of approximately seven students to each faculty member. Our academic curriculum is enhanced by an innovative approach to foreign language development, creative fine arts and performing arts instruction, and an athletic program that promotes healthy growth and teamwork. Character education is taught through values and ethics classes founded on Judeo-Christian principles and traditions, meaningful community service projects, and a wide variety of enrichment activities. Our program supports an exceptionally warm and welcoming School culture that embraces significant parent participation. The Stanwich School is accredited by the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools.
The Stanwich School has added one grade level each year since opening in 1998 and as of fall 2006 is offering a pre-K to 9 program. The school recently purchased property adjacent to its current campus and expansion plans are underway which include opening a Senior House (Grades 10-12) enabling the school to be the only co-ed pre-K – 12 school in Greenwich.
